Valley Fever

Coccidioides immitis is a soil base fungus that impacts life across the Southwestern United States.    Coccidioides spp are found desert regions with alkaline sandy soils, limited rain fall, 10 to 50 cm annually.

People employed in construction and agriculture are at risk.  Dust storms move this fungus through the air and in the dry southwest everyone is at risk.
